1. What is anaerobic threshold? The point during high-intensity activity when the body can no longer meet its demand for oxygen and anaerobic metabolism predominates. Typically occurs in the range of 50-85% of max. effort.

2. Sensory nerve cells carry the impulses from the peripheral receptors to the spinal cord and brain.

3. Motor nerve cells carry impulses away from the CNS to respond to the perceived changes in the body’s internal or external environment.

4. What kind of joint is the ankle? A synovial or hinge joint that performs plantar flexion and dorisflexion.

5. What are the three functional classifications of joints and are based on what? Fibrous, cartilaginous, and diarthrodial. Based on the degree and type of movement they allow.

6. Which actions occur in the saggital plane? Flexion, extension, dorsiflexion and plantarflexion.

7. Which actions occur in the frontal plane? Abduction, adduction, elevation, depression, inversion and eversion.

8. What actions are multiplanar? Circumduction and opposition

9. Name some exercises for the erector spinae? Squats, deadlift, prone back extension, and good standing posture.

10. Name the muscle that elevate the scapula? Traps, rhomboids major, and levator scapulae.
